Salvoras Pizza

Salvoras Pizza began as a carryout and delivery pizzeria in January 2015 in South Haven Indiana with a menu that includes pizzas, pasta, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, desserts, and a kids menu. Salvoras Pizza delivers to Portage, Wheeler, Burns Harbor, portions of Hobart east of Rt. 51, and sections of Valparaiso and Chesterton west of Rt. 49. In 2016 they opened the dining room side of the restaurant due to high demand for a pizzeria with a cozy and quaint dining room. The dining room can accommodate larger parties and birthday parties or meetings.

The Salvoras' story dates back to 1986 when Salvador and Aurora Fausto dreamed of opening a family pizzeria. They would visit local pizzerias in Chicago and South suburbs to try the different flavors that other places offered. They would become friends with the owners of the pizza places and talk to the owners about the pizza-making business. Soon Salvador would work in one of these pizza places located in the south suburbs of Chicago to begin the learning process. He learned how to make the dough and great tasting sauce and how to add flavors to the Italian sausage.

​They began purchasing items for the restaurant and searching out locations so they could begin their adventure. Aurora and Salvador had seven children together and they planned to have all seven children involved in the family pizzeria. As with most things, life, finances, and health got in the way of their plans, and they were unable to fulfill this dream before they both passed away.

At the end of 2014, a wonderful opportunity presented itself to the Fausto children. They became aware of an existing pizzeria in the Portage/Valparaiso (South Haven) area that was for sale. After much careful thought and discussion, the Fausto children decided to make their parents' dream come true.

The Fausto siblings decided to name the pizzeria after their deceased parents by combining the names of Salvador and Aurora. Salvoras Pizza was born. Photos of their parents grace the restaurant wall. Salvoras Pizza is more than your average pizza place it’s like a home for the family. Salvoras Pizza has all original recipes that were created by Mr. & Mrs. Fausto many years ago and the children have taken it to the next level.

Salvoras Pizza recipes are inspired by the great pizza flavors found in the Chicago area. They pride themselves with true Chicago Style Pizza. This is a dream come true for all of the Fausto siblings. Growing up with the love for pizza and trying the different flavors across the Chicagoland area. Pizza is in their blood. Growing up as the children of a factory worker and a mechanic and living on modest incomes, the Fausto children understand the meaning of hard work, determination and strive to be the best and produce the best products. Even though Salvador and Aurora were unable to fulfill their dream during their lifetime, Salvador and Aurora's dream will be carried on by their children and the future generations of Fausto’s.
