H.E. Health Fair

Holistic Evolution is taking 420 back for health and we are looking for your support in doing so! Many may relate 420 as the national weed smoking holiday, but the H.E. community is taking it back for health! We are using April 20th and 21st as an opportunity to promote good health behaviors in the community, specifically to the population we support young men of color 16-24 yrs old. We will use this weekend as an opportunity to educate the community on the social determinants of health (conditions in the places where people live, learn, work, play, and worship that affect a wide range of health risks and outcomes)and how addressing communal disparities will support Northwest Indiana in obtaining equitable health outcomes. Saturday April 20th
Holistic Evolution will host the 4th Annual HE Health Fair at Neighbors' Educational Opportunities (NEO) ON 5201 US Highway 6, Portage IN, 46368 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. This is a vendor fair in which we engage 15-20 organizations that not only educated fair participants on health related topics, but also those topics specific to the social determinants of health. We always ensure that we have vendors focused on economic stability, Education access and quality, healthcare access and quality, neighborhood and built environment, as well as social and community. Last year we hosted it at Michigan City Highschool and had 200 individuals, including volunteers, vendors, and young men of color aged 16-24, actively participating in this substance- free community event.
