Picture-maker Polina Plotnikova takes a classic, traditional subject and turns it on its head as she explores unconventional techniques that bring illusion, reflection, shadow, and movement into the frame.
Expect plenty of image-based case studies breaking down exactly how each technique works, alongside behind-the-scenes photos and videos so you can see the setups in action. If you love the idea of creating something surprising and painterly straight out of the camera, this one’s for you.
Polina is a full-time photographer and a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society with many national and international awards. Her favorite photographic subjects are flower portraiture and still life.
