RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (May 8, 2024) – Tanger Outlets Riverhead invites guests to enjoy shopping with a side of sport at the new Pickleball Smash-it location opening this spring. Making its Tanger portfolio debut, the New York-based company combines competition with camaraderie to offer the Long Island community new ways to socialize while shopping at Suffolk County’s preferred outlet destination.

Opening in an 8,000 square-foot facility next to Columbia, Pickleball Smash-it will boast two indoor, tournament-quality courts outfitted with luxury couches, free Wi-Fi and the ability to control music from players’ own phones. The no-membership-required club will offer a unique space for private group events and $10, two-hour open-play sessions, along with lessons for adults and youth clinics provided by local coaches. The facility’s state-of-the-art “Save my Play” will give guests the ability to capture recordings of previous plays or live stream any match to share across social media. As the fastest-growing sport across the U.S., pickleball is the perfect activity for all ages looking to stay fit, meet friends and try something new.

Pickleball Smash-it started in 2023 offering indoor Pickleball Clubs for private and or public bookings. The club does not charge any membership fees, no guest fees when reserving time, and no annual costs or commitments to play at their facilities.
