More About GR8 Pasta Push benefiting Second Helpings
Join Second Helpings and WISH-TV 8 for a community-wide pasta and fund drive to Feed Indy, June 4-18. Last year, this effort provided more than 160,000 meals for our neighbors in central Indiana.
Why pasta?
Second Helpings relies on pasta drives like yours to bring much needed non-perishable items to our Hunger Relief kitchen. Pasta doesn’t tend to get donated through our regular sources – the shelf life is so long that wholesalers and grocery stores don’t need to move it along as quickly. Plus, Second Helpings uses those items in large quantities – on average, Second Helpings uses about 1,000 pounds of pasta per week, so the items you collect will be put right to use feeding Indy!
