More About Metro Women's Center
For 32 years Women’s Center (MWC) has educated the community about life-affirming options for pregnancy related challenges, provided educational classes for expectant parents, and offered practical items for babies. Since 2012, we have provided temporary shelter for pregnant women at our Amazing Grace Home (AGH) in Fridley. All services are free of charge.
Our HOPE program provides opportunities for expectant parents to earn points by watching educational videos, working a job, and/or participating in other activities that improve their future. Parenting and Life Skills educational presentations are offered every Wednesday at 1:00 pm in our Restore Center classroom. Points earned by engaging with our HOPE program can be redeemed for baby supplies, an infant car seat, a pack 'n' play, diapers, and other baby items from our resource room. Visit our website to learn about more ways to earn points for baby items.
Temporary shelter for pregnant women over age 18, who do not currently have other children in their care, is provided at our Amazing Grace Home in Fridley. Since opening in 2012 the Amazing Grace Home program has housed 49 pregnant women. To view a video of our home click: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8eVrowJcl0
Metro Women’s Center (MWC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1990. We are funded by churches, individuals, and private companies. MWC is not a medical facility and we receive no government funding. Our helpful staff includes Colleen (Director), Rochelle (who speaks Spanish), and Joe and Kim (house parents at the Amazing Grace Home).
If you are in need of services or to donate baby equipment, diapers, baby clothing or maternity clothing (in excellent condition), please call our office or visit our website at www.metrowomenscenter.org.
