    Build strength and flexibility in safe ways;
    Stimulate the immune system;
    Build bone density;
    Detoxify the body;
    Cultivate a sense of well-being;
    Create community, gratitude, and hope;
    Empower each participant to take control of and enhance their lives.
    Whether you are a cancer patient or a long-time survivor; whether you are newly diagnosed or in treatment; whether you are gathering strength or looking at cancer in the rear-view mirror; our Yoga for Cancer classes are for you. Yoga supports your recovery and helps you feel whole again. Yoga cultivates strength, flexibility, and balance at all phases of your cancer journey. Yoga may even reveal a sense of gratitude and confidence you have not previously known.

    But not all yoga classes are right for cancer patients. And for some, taking a yoga class can be intimidating because of the unique physical and emotional needs that accompany cancer and its treatments. Yoga for Cancer classes offer breath and movement practices that are tailored to address the specific needs of cancer patients and survivors. Yoga for Cancer classes are neither “one size fits all” nor a basic gentle yoga class. Taught by teachers who received specialized training to teach yoga to cancer patients and survivors in various phases of treatment and recovery, Yoga for Life’s Yoga for Cancer classes are perfect for you! We hope you’ll give them a try.

    Click “Schedule and Class Info/Weekly Calendar” above
    to register for the FREE Yoga for Cancer classes.

    In order to provide a safe and effective experience for all participants, general information about your cancer diagnosis and treatment must be provided before you can participate in class. Your time at the studio will be most productive if you complete our Medical Information Form in advance of your first class and bring it with you to the studio.

    - b2bTRIBE invites Charlotte-area small business owners and entrepreneurs to its third annual b2bTRIBE LIVE. Unlike most business networking and learning events, only business owners are allowed to register – no employees, no reps. This unique, peer-to-peer event is geared toward business owners in need of authentic conversations and connections with other business owners – not the shallow conversations you find at typical networking events. The thought-provoking program combined with intentional networking and joyful activities (recess! wohoo!) will spark real-world conversations. Business owners and entrepreneurs are all about learning new ways to solve problems creatively while enjoying their passions, which ties in perfectly with our theme this year – learn smart and play hard. We’ll learn smart from a group of successful small business owners about their million-dollar strategies and their formulas for the power of giving. We’ll play hard during intentional networking time over cornhole, giant jenga, ducks in a row, snow cones, popcorn, lemonade and awesome sponsor giveaways.

  • | Kids, Fantastic Frogs, Discovery Place, Charlotte, NC
    - Get up close to some amazing amphibians!

    Meet remarkable live frogs from all over the world whose unique "superpowers" have adapted over time to help them survive.

    These frogs have evolved to become masters of disguise as well as escape artists in order to attract mates, deceive predators and more.

    From the bones of the hairy toad (Trichobatrachus robustus) that break reflexively and shoot out from the toe pads like claws, to the color-cued unken reflex of the yellow bellied toad (Bombina variegata), to the golden poison dart frog (Phyllobates terribilis), the world's most poisonous frog, Fantastic Frogs emphasizes the impressive survival traits that individual species of frogs have developed and honed over time.

    This exhibition uses a graphic novel approach throughout, incorporating spectacularly-colored wall and panel illustrations to depict how frogs live lives full of action, constantly struggling to fend off foes. It also features interactive learning games, scientific videos and, of course, plenty of live frogs!
