Bark after Dark - Akron Zoo

Experience the zoo like never before - after hours and alongside your four-legged friend! Stroll through the zoo with your pup, enjoy special animal encounters and take in the evening atmosphere filled with wagging tails.

We'll have toys (while supplies last) and pup cups available! There will be water bowls all around the zoo and trash cans to toss anything your dog may drop on the ground. Please be sure to clean up after your dog. Your dog must remain on leash at all times. Each adult may only have one dog. Multiple dogs require multiple adults.

We don't want to ruffle any feathers or have our cats practice their grumpy faces, so please adhere to our dog free pathways, keep barking to a minimum and keep your dog moving along if they or our animal residents get too worked up. We want this to be an enjoyable experience for all animals, big and small.

Your dog deserves VIP style, so add a limited edition 2026 Bark After Dark bandana (pictured)! Select the ticket type with the bandana, and we'll have it for you at check-in. Make sure to let us know which size you need--medium or large is available.

The zoo reserves the right to ask you and your dog to leave. This is a rain or shine event. Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
