St. Paul's Artist Series: "Beyond the Skies" Maya Osuga, soprano

Music at St. Paul’s announces its 2026-27 Artist Series season presenting four concerts featuring a wide range of music performed by internationally acclaimed soloists and ensembles. All concerts take place at 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 305 West Seventh at Pine Street, in downtown Chattanooga. This season’s St. Paul’s Artist Series opens on Friday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m., with soprano Maya Osuga and pianist Aimee Fincher performing “Beyond the Skies,” a celebration of women’s voices in poetry and music. The program features a wide range of works spanning several centuries, including settings of American poet Edna St. Vincent Millay’s lyrical poems and the war time poetry of French poet Louise de Vilmorin providing a glimpse into the beautiful and heartbreaking world of art song, as well as settings of German Romantic poetry by notable women composers Fanny Hensel and Clara Schumann.

Maya Osuga is a concert soloist, chamber musician and recitalist with a particular interest in art song She is the founder of Her Art in Song, a project dedicated to bringing new life to underrepresented voices and focused on highlighting the music and poetry of women in art song through research, education and performance.
