  • - FREE SMART DEVICE WORKSHOP OFFERED TO HELP LYNCHBURG RESIDENTS SEE HOW EASY IT IS TO BE GREEN
No April Fooling Workshop can help residents learn how to delete, recycle and generally stay green digitally

LYNCHBURG, Va. (April 1, 2017) – Earth Day is April 22 and it serves as a great reminder for us all to consider how we are impacting the environment and what changes we can make to positively impact our environment.

U.S. Cellular associates will help smartphone users stay green in 2017 during a free Device Workshop in Lynchburg. Attendees will learn how to reduce, reuse and recycle from the palm of your hand and to use their devices, such as the iPhone 7 or Samsung Galaxy S7. Guests do not need to be U.S. Cellular customers to attend.

“Our associates are available to show residents how to use their devices to become more environmentally friendly this year,” said Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Mid-South. “As members of our community upgrade to new phones many times they keep their old devices and end up with a drawer full of older phones. We are happy to show Lynchburg residents how to clear their personal data off their phones and help recycle them in an environmentally sound manner.”

The free workshop will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 27th at 3901 Old Forest Road Bldg G, Ste 702 in Lynchburg. During the workshop U.S. Cellular associates can demonstrate how to delete content so you can recycle older devices and download apps that can help customers and their families become more environmentally conscience this year. The workshop is free and open to the public regardless of guests’ wireless provider.

For more information on the free workshop call 434-385-1641.

    - The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Our Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo-Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.
