  • - Join us for an evening lecture and book signing with Katrina Blair, author of Wild, Wisdom of Weeds and founder of Turtle Lake Refuge in Durango, Colorado! The Wild Wisdon of Weeds is about empowering ourselves to maintain a state of optimal health with minimal cost and effort. Katrina will be joined by Tyler VanGemert, who uses ancient breath-work, meditation, and movement practices from Taoist and Cherokee traditions to lead us into an inner alignment of indigenous consciousness. This event will include: a slide show of 13 Wild Weeds for Human Survival, Wild Green Juice, and Centering Movement. Ben Falk, author of The Resilient Farm and Homestead says this about Katrina's book "This is the kind of information that should precede gardening and farming. Katrina Blair expertly shows that before picking up a hoe or spreading a single seed, we can turn to our yards, fields, and forests for so many of the foods and medicines we need to live well." Sandor Katz says "Her recipes have inspired me to experiment with new ingredients in my ferments."

Event cost is $5 per person and space is limited to 90. Registration is required. Katrina will only bring a small number of books for sale, so feel free to bring your own copy! This is a don't miss permculture inspired event!

    - Sweetest Day originated in Cleveland, Ohio in 1922. Herbert Birch Kingston, a philanthropist and candy company employee wanted to bring happiness into the lives of the sick, orphans, shut-ins and others who were forgotten by distributing candy to them. Thus, Sweetest Day was born. Today is the day to do something nice for someone that will make him or her say, "Oh, that's so sweet!" Annually, the third Saturday in October.

In 2007, T-Pain released his second album Epiphany, which reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. Trick Dick & the Cover-Ups
With an undeniable repertoire of close to 200 hit songs, Tricky Dick boasts four young and energetic members with fun personalities and refined musicianship. With a constantly growing playlist comprised of non-stop blocks of music, a unique and compelling intelligent light show, a sincere dedication to engaging every audience, and over three years of experience playing 200+ shows a year together, Tricky Dick has garnered over 9,000 fans on Facebook and they have only just begun.

    Fhono
FHONO is an American songwriter, producer and live touring act that was born out of a major dance music project that the world is VERY fond of. Tired of the current state in electronic music, FHONO decided to go behind the shadows and create a new platform without revealing who they are. FHONO's music is a genre bending, forward thinking live approach to modern sounds unlike anything being played out today. FHONO brings in and out live vocalists to create a feeling of excitement and euphoria in all of its music. FHONO is set to be a movement and not a person or an individual itself.

    E-V
With thousands of electrifying hybrid performances around the globe, E-V has quickly evolved into the entertainer that he is today – some shows include SXSW, Number (#) Fest, Life in Color, Bamboozle, Electro Beach, EST Fest, and both the iHeart Radio Pool Party in Miami and iHeart Radio Musical Festival in Las Vegas. From sharing stages with some of the biggest names in the modern music industry – including Alesso, Steve Aoki, Kendrick Lamar, Krewella, Drake, Carnage, Cash Cash, Timeflies, Bassnectar, Major Lazer, Adventure Club, Flosstradamus, Seven Lions, Waka Flaka, and Cake’d Up – to energizing club dance floors across the country for his monthly residencies, E-V is force to be reckoned with.

Delivered free of charge every December to millions of homes across America, our full-sized, full-color calendar is a time-tested and beloved tool for helping families stay organized. But there's more! Every calendar is full of coupons from popular local merchants, so you can save money while supporting small businesses right in your hometown.

And don't miss our beautiful full-color photography! Every month you'll recognize a new photo from someplace close to home, submitted to us by a local photographer. If you'd like to have your own hometown photos included in our calendar, please contact your local publisher for more information.

We truly believe it's better to "keep it local". From coast to coast and border to border, our network of franchisees work with organizations and merchants right in their community to make sure you get the information and savings you care about. We prefer to feature family-friendly events that are a short walk or drive away, and coupons from local businesses so you can support your hometown economy.

If there's something happening close to home that folks in your neighborhood need to know about, why not submit it to us today? Please note that publication of your event is subject to approval by your local Town Planner publisher.

If there's no Town Planner calendar in your area, you could be looking at a great business opportunity! Town Planner franchisees set their own hours and can work out of their homes while providing a valuable service to both homeowners and local businesses in the area.
