    - Stigma is a public health issue-it contributes to high rates of death, incarceration, and mental health concerns among dependent populations.

The concept of stigma describes the powerful, negative perceptions commonly associated with substance abuse and addiction. Stigma has the potential to negatively affect a person's self esteem, damage relationships with loved ones, and prevent those suffering from addiction from accessing treatment.

We must change this mindset! People should not be ashamed or embarrassed to ask for help.

Join us for this Addiction Awareness and Outreach event to help STOP the STIGMA of addiction and represent the love and compassion for those who struggling to seek help.

  • | 9:00am - 2:00pm | Kids, summer camps, Monroe, NC, 2018, Whisper Creek Farm
    - THREE 5-Day Sessions available this Summer!

Camp Farm Life is hosted by Whisper Creek Farm, located on 11 acres in rural Monroe, North Carolina, and it is a farm life-themed, free-range, nature-oriented, 5-day summer camp, taking place Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM daily. Sessions are open for children ages 6-12. $179.00 per camper for the week (sibling discount available if you want to register more than one of your children) $50.00 non-refundable deposit holds their spot.

Camp Farm Life is a co-ed farm experience on a real working farm, surrounded by woods, creeks, fields, and farms where kids WILL get dirty and learn about where their food comes from, and how it gets from the field or pasture to their table. The campers will learn what it takes to produce the food that they see in the grocery stores, but on a much smaller scale than larger, commercial farms.

Whisper Creek Farm’s produce is grown using organic practices on about three acres of land, and we are home to a variety of animals, including chickens, ducks, pigs, quail, and a rabbit. We only keep animals on our farm that contribute to the farm in some way, but sometimes, we may “borrow” a goat, horse, or other animals to broaden the campers’ exposure to other farm animals (depending on the availability of the animal).

    - Special Exhibit: Billy Graham – An Extraordinary Journey
On February 21, 2018, Billy Graham’s hope and greatest longing was realized as he entered heaven. Today, he is in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ. God worked through Mr. Graham’s death much like He did through his life, using the events surrounding his passing to open hearts and change lives for eternity through the power of the Gospel. This special exhibit shares the remarkable impact of the events commemorating Billy Graham’s life and ministry – and demonstrates how God is continuing this legacy of evangelism to “bring salvation to the ends of the earth” (Acts 13:47).
Browse fascinating photos, never-before-seen memorabilia, and testimonies from those who have been impacted since Billy Graham’s passing.
Located in the lobby of the Billy Graham Library, this exhibit is free to the public and no pre-registration is required. For more information, please call 704-401-3200.
