Welcome to Pirate Adventures of Myrtle Beach! A place where children come to experience the magic of sailing away in search of sunken treasure. Come aboard our pirate ship and get caught up in this real life adventure. Be amazed as our crew taps into the wonder of a child’s imagination. Your child will be painted with a curly mustache or with an anchor tattoo, dressed with a lucky tea sure hunting vest and marched off to the ship.

Once aboard, the young pirates will learn the rules at sea aboard the Sea Gypsy and use a treasure map to find the sunken treasure. As the crew searches for clues, they discover that Pirate Pete, the smiliest, most rotten, pirate on the Seven Seas, is lurking nearby, and he has something our brave crew needs. Off we go into battle with our famous water cannons! Will the crew defeat Pirate Pete and find the sunken treasure!?!
Aboard the Sea Gypsy, we always find the treasure, we always defeat that Pirate Pete, and the children always walk away with incredible stories!

    - The Horry County Museum and the AVX Foundation present a lecture by Eric Emerson on Saturday, June 23rd, on the history of the South Carolina state flag.
South Carolina has had a number of flags over the course of its history, and two have been approved by the General Assembly. The second of these was created by A.S. Salley, the first Secretary of the South Carolina History Commission (now known as the South Carolina Department of Archives & History), with help from Clemson College and a little-known friend in Charleston. In this lecture, Dr. Emerson will recount the tale of a man whose claims to be the authority on South Carolina history led the General Assembly to task him with re-creating the state flag. His design would be the forerunner of today’s banner, the nation’s second most popular state flag.
Dr. Emerson is the director of the South Carolina Department of Archives & History (SCDAH). He received his Bachelors of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte and his masters and doctorate in History from the University of Alabama. Prior to coming to SCDAH in 2009, he served as the executive director of the Charleston Library Society and the South Carolina Historical Society.
The program will begin at 1 pm in the McCown Auditorium located at 805 Main Street, Conway SC. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 843-915-5320 or email hcgmuseum@horrycounty.org. To view a full list of programs, visit our website at click for details.

Fun things to do in Myrtle Beach

Since 1986 the Town Planner Calendar has been keeping families across America up-to-date about events and other fun things to do right in their hometown.

Delivered free of charge every December to millions of homes across America, our full-sized, full-color calendar is a time-tested and beloved tool for helping families stay organized. The large date blocks are not only loaded with lots of nearby events and fun things to do, there's plenty of room for you to record your own family's important events like birthdays, anniversaries, parties -- anything you have planned -- so everybody in the house can see them whenever they go to the fridge, out the front door, or wherever you choose to display it.

But there's more! Every calendar is full of coupons from popular local merchants, so you can save money while supporting small businesses right in your hometown.

And don't miss our beautiful full-color photography! Every month you'll recognize a new photo from someplace close to home, submitted to us by a local photographer. If you'd like to have your own hometown photos included in our calendar, please contact your local publisher for more information.

We truly believe it's better to "keep it local". From coast to coast and border to border, our network of franchisees work with organizations and merchants right in their community to make sure you get the information and savings you care about. We prefer to feature family-friendly events that are a short walk or drive away, and coupons from local businesses so you can support your hometown economy.

If there's something happening close to home that folks in your neighborhood need to know about, why not submit it to us today? Please note that publication of your event is subject to approval by your local Town Planner publisher.

If there's no Town Planner calendar in your area, you could be looking at a great business opportunity! Town Planner franchisees set their own hours and can work out of their homes while providing a valuable service to both homeowners and local businesses in the area.
