  • | 1:00pm - 3:30pm | Meeting, clean up
    - Help us remove ALL of the litter from 5 inter-cities surrounding Cleveland in one single day!

On September 23, we are hosting the inaugural Great International Clean-Up. The LitterBugz will be in direct competition with other nonprofits and NGO’s around the world to see who can recruit the most volunteers. Jeff Schlekie (founder of the LitterBugz) and Inon Dan Kehati (founder of The Home and #CleaningTheHate) met through LitterBugz volunteer Amid Youseff and formed the World Trash Federation.

Volunteers will arrive at one of the meet-up locations at 12:30pm. Before we divide into groups, volunteers are taught how to recycle and educated on the effects of litter. We will spread out in teams of five, removing as much litter as possible in three hours. Volunteers primarily focus on removing litter from parks, sidewalks, playgrounds, and highway exists & entrances. The Great International Clean-Up is an opportunity for employees or students to receive community service hours.

    Our mission is to remove all of the litter from 5 intercities surrounding Cleveland on September 23. These cities include and are not limited to;

Lakewood – Meet at Lakewood Park (coordinated by Crystal Muscatello)
Parma – Meet at Veterans Memorial Park (coordinated by Matthew Schmidt)
Parma Heights – Meet at Kurtz Park (coordinated by Nina Rossi)
North Randall – Meet at L.E.D. Signs (coordinated by Amid Yousef)
East Cleveland – Meet at Shaw High school (coordinated by Jeff Schlekie)
We are hosting one meeting location in each of these cities with a goal to have 175 volunteers per location. We partner with many nonprofit organizations, businesses, youth groups, schools, and churches to raise awareness. It takes a great deal of networking, organization, and leadership to put this event together. Please consider reaching out to help in any way.

    David Mettert | 216-470-2198 | dave@thelitterbugz.org | President

    Jeff Schlekie | 440-829-4703 | jeff@thelitterbugz.org | Volunteer Chair

    Matt Schmidt | 216-225-8215 | matt@thelitterbugz.org | Outreach & Development

Our cleaning events are organized passionately by people who volunteer to pick up litter. We encourage others to create change in hopes to inspire an environmentally friendly culture. Litter is a distraction. Litter also disturbs people. Without litter, resources are more accessible. People tend to gravitate towards cleaner areas spending more money with local businesses. Making the environment more attractive improves the economy.

    - Night Market Cleveland is a dynamic nighttime experience connecting people to the distinctive community, culture and creativity of the St Clair Superior, Campus and Asiatown districts, and designed to animate a creative economy, spark interest and inspire further exploration.

NMCLE is an authentically Asian, and uniquely Cleveland experience. The series is a balanced mash-up of farmer’s market, meets maker market, meets food festival, meets entertainment series, with each aspect pulling from local and regional talent and treasure.

At its core, the event series was designed to energize a often-overlooked corner of Cleveland by creating a place where the diverse people and cultures of Cleveland can come together to experience life at night!

Night Market Cleveland is open to the public and free to attend.

    Kid-friendly, Family-friendly, Pet-friendly.

    - The race is a family oriented event drawing serious and casual competitors, along with entire families who run and walk to support the work of the Epilepsy Association. The 5K and 1-Mile walk will begin and end at Merwin’s Wharf, the Cleveland Metroparks Restaurant, located on the Cuyahoga River in the industrial Flats neighborhood. EA has partnered with Hermes, the region’s largest sponsor of road races to manage the race and enhance promotional activities. Families of eRACERs are invited to be a part of the Association’s family activities that will happen in conjunction with the race. The race will also include a fundraising component which will allow participants a complimentary race entry as long as a minimum fundraising goal is met. These charity runners, called eRACERS, will be given special recognition by earning a technical team t-shirt and will be awarded special prizes.

If you would like more information about the eRACE event, please contact The Epilepsy Association at (216) 579-1330.

Fun things to do in North Olmsted

Since 1986 the Town Planner Calendar has been keeping families across America up-to-date about events and other fun things to do right in their hometown.

Delivered free of charge every December to millions of homes across America, our full-sized, full-color calendar is a time-tested and beloved tool for helping families stay organized. The large date blocks are not only loaded with lots of nearby events and fun things to do, there's plenty of room for you to record your own family's important events like birthdays, anniversaries, parties -- anything you have planned -- so everybody in the house can see them whenever they go to the fridge, out the front door, or wherever you choose to display it.

But there's more! Every calendar is full of coupons from popular local merchants, so you can save money while supporting small businesses right in your hometown.

And don't miss our beautiful full-color photography! Every month you'll recognize a new photo from someplace close to home, submitted to us by a local photographer. If you'd like to have your own hometown photos included in our calendar, please contact your local publisher for more information.

We truly believe it's better to "keep it local". From coast to coast and border to border, our network of franchisees work with organizations and merchants right in their community to make sure you get the information and savings you care about. We prefer to feature family-friendly events that are a short walk or drive away, and coupons from local businesses so you can support your hometown economy.

If there's something happening close to home that folks in your neighborhood need to know about, why not submit it to us today? Please note that publication of your event is subject to approval by your local Town Planner publisher.

If there's no Town Planner calendar in your area, you could be looking at a great business opportunity! Town Planner franchisees set their own hours and can work out of their homes while providing a valuable service to both homeowners and local businesses in the area.
