    - Boy Scout Troop 501 invites all current and past Troop 501 families to join them at their 90th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, July 29 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Medina United Methodist Church on Foote Road. During this special event, troop alumni will have a chance to celebrate 90 years of service and leadership in the community, visit with old friends, view Troop 501 memorabilia displays, and enjoy a dessert reception following the ceremony. Later that evening, the troop invites everyone to the House Reserve on Lake Road, or "the cabin" as members know it, for a bonfire and fellowship.

    Giving back to the community has always been an important part of the Troop 501 experience. Troop 501 is responsible for lighting the luminaries each night of the annual Candlelight Walk Festival on the Square in downtown Medina. They also take part in placing American flags on the graves of service men and women at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman and Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina each Memorial Day. Troop 501 takes part in the Adopt-A-Highway program as well, tending to a portion of Pearl Road / Route 42 in Medina. They are also known for their annual Spring Mulch Sale.

    Founded in 1927, Troop 501 is Medina's oldest and largest Boy Scout troop and is a unit of the Great Trail Council of Akron, Ohio (Chippewa District), and chartered through Medina United Methodist Church.

    Vintage Ohio Wine Festival: While Vintage Ohio by Ohio Wine Producers Association at Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland, Ohio has truly grown to showcase more than just wine, the winemakers and their vintages draw more than 30,000 wine lovers to Lake County each August. Vintage Ohio is sponsored by the Ohio Wine Producers Association.   • - Just as individual LEGO bricks fit together to create amazing things, nature is filled with fascinating and delicate relationships that connect to form the wondrous world around us. The Botanical Garden invites guests young and old to explore the fascinating stories behind these relationships and more at Nature Connects: Art with LEGO Bricks, special to the Garden this summer only!

    Families can learn about and discover the interconnections in nature through daily interactive experiences and special programs including encounters with 13 astounding sculptures made with LEGO bricks designed and built by artist Sean Kenney. Other exhibit features include:

    Twins Days Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio is the world’s largest annual gathering of twins. Officials estimate 2,000 sets of twins appear every year. Now that’s got to be quiet a sight. Twins from around the world participate in a parade appropriately named the Double-take Parade, which has been nationally televised.     The Ohio Mennonite Relief Sale & Auction in Wooster, Ohio is a festival atmosphere where people come from communities far and wide to eat, visit, and buy. The main events are the three auctions: The Art and Collectible Auction featuring art and collectibles from local and well-known artists, the Quilt Auction featuring quilts of all sizes and colors, and the Wood Auction featuring items from local businesses and craftsmen. There are quilting demonstrations, children’s activities and live entertainment. There are also booths with needlework, crafts, plants and thousands of used books, as well as the special MCC display of items shipped in from 10,000 Villages. Enjoy baked goods, sandwiches, homemade ice cream and lots of other wonderful specialty foods. The Ohio Mennonite Relief Sale raises money for world-wide relief through the Mennonite Central Committee.
