Meet Julianna Hillestad

My name is Julianna Hillestad, and I’m a Town Planner publisher serving the Amherst, North Ridgeville, and Lorain communities. I grew up in Wadsworth, Ohio, and have always valued the strong sense of connection that makes local communities so special. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Colorado Boulder, where I developed a foundation in communication and storytelling that I bring into my work every day.

Through Town Planner, I connect local businesses with residents using our community calendars—something that goes far beyond just dates on a page. Each calendar is designed to be a practical, everyday resource while also highlighting the events, businesses, and moments that shape the community.

I enjoy working closely with local business owners to give them consistent, meaningful visibility and help them reach the people right in their own neighborhoods. What I love most about this work is the connection it creates—bringing together residents, supporting small businesses, and contributing to the growth of these communities.

Outside of work, I spend much of my free time riding and showing my horses, which has taught me discipline, patience, and dedication—qualities I carry into my professional life as well.
