More About Free Gardening Class: Personal Flower Arranging

The Master Gardeners of Hamilton County (MGHC), in association with the University of Tennessee Extension, continue their monthly series of 3rd Saturday Free Gardening Classes on Saturday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m., with “Personal Flower Arranging: Bouquets & Boutonnières” taught by floral designers Pam Guinn and Sarah Monroe. MGHC’s 3rd Saturday Free Gardening Classes take place at the UT-TSU Hamilton County Extension Center, 6183 Adamson Circle, off Bonny Oaks Drive in Chattanooga. Master Gardener Debbie Bauder comments, “Personal flowers are those a person carries at a wedding or special event, including bouquets, boutonnières, hair flowers, petal baskets, and even floral pet collars. For prom, pocket boutonnières are a great way to stand out in the crowd, and the trend these days is to choose hand bouquets rather than wrist corsages. In this class, floral designers Pam Guinn and Sarah Monroe will teach the ins and outs of making personal flowers, focusing on pocket boutonnières and small hand bouquets. In the workshop portion of the class, those attending will learn to make individual small bouquets. Attendees should plan to bring a flowers from your local grocery store and a ribbon of your choice. All other supplies will be provided to create a lovely personal flower arrangement.”
