More About Justice for My People Film Festival
Justice for My Sister (JFMS), a nonprofit that focuses on nurturing and amplifying Black, Indigenous, and POC voices through storytelling and violence prevention, will celebrate its 11th year with the third annual Justice for My People Film Festival on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at the Japanese American National Museum.
The festival runs from 4:30 PM to 10 PM, with a red carpet opening at 3 PM. Actor and filmmaker Nava Mau will be joined in the carpet by emerging filmmakers, with additional special guests to be announced in the coming weeks.
From its origins as a grassroots documentary project to a nationally recognized nonprofit, Justice for My Sister has spent 11 years building impact, resistance, and artistic revolution.
