ESC'S DARRYL MAXIMILIAN ROBINSON RECALLS HIS 2014 MAJOR-GENERAL STANLEY IN THE SAN PEDRO THEATRE CLUB 135TH ANNIVERSARY REVIVAL PRODUCTION OF GILBERT AND SULLIVAN'S "THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE"!:

This role is often recognized as one of the most iconic in the operetta, particularly noted for its signature song, "I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General."

Before undertaking this role, Darryl Maximilian Robinson was already an acclaimed actor, having received various Chicago and LA theater accolades throughout his career, including a 2013 Los Angeles Marcom Masque Theatre Award nomination for Best Actor In A Major Supporting Role for his role as the historic Black educator and orator Booker T. Washington in "Ragtime" and, most recently, both a 2022 Making The World Happening Award from Allevents.in for his numerous online theatre-related offerings and a 2024 Broadwayworld Los Angeles Award nomination for Best Supporting Performer In A Play for his portrayal of Chicago Tribune Newspaper Reporter Roy V. Bensinger in The Culver City Public Theatre revival production of Ben Hecht's and Charles MacArthur's 1928 stage comedy "The Front Page."
