History is rarely a straight line. Over time, the true stories of our past are often polished, embellished, or entirely rewritten. Since the American Revolution (and before), Cumberland County’s historic residents have been given the same treatment. From the very well known Molly Pitcher to the sometimes forgotten Butcher Family, Cumberland County abounds with interesting pieces of the past. Explore this exhibit and learn what these figures have to say about the misinformation surrounding their stories as they dispel myths by declaring, “Well actually…”
