More About Two-for-One Performance! Hippie & Frenchie / Leatherwood Hill

Hippie and Frenchie is an improv duo from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, comprised of Rachel Stern and Alain Epp Weaver. Inspired by a suggestion of an unusual place, they discover comedy in the hopes, passions, foibles, and flaws of people (or spirits, or monsters, or animals, or objects) not unlike ourselves. Leatherwood Hill performs the Raw Harold format, a loose, anything-goes Harold where we follow the whims of the piece itself. It’s the predecessor of today’s Harold, taught to us at the Appell Center by Chris Myers, an original Chicago improviser who worked with Del Close and Sharna Halpern. This performance is part of York Fringe Festival, an annual celebration of nontraditional live arts, such as improv and stand-up comedy, drag, burlesque, circus arts and sideshow, spoken word, puppetry, magic, dance, opera, storytelling, variety, interdisciplinary performance art, etc., as well as new twists on traditional theatre, such as re-setting Shakespeare under the sea or in Spanish-language performances.
