More About Cyanotypes in the Sun
Discover the art of cyanotype printmaking in this hands-on workshop at Horn Farm. Through a demonstration, guided instruction, and hands-on studio time, you'll learn the basics of this artistic process and create your own unique blue-and-white prints to take home. Instructor Liz Kendig will share a brief history of this unique art form and explain how cyanotypes are created using sunlight and a light-sensitive solution made from two chemicals: ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide. Participants will have supervised time to experiment with cyanotype techniques, create original compositions, and receive guidance from Liz throughout the process. The number of prints is unlimited, and participants can expect to take home a minimum of four 4" x 6" ready-to-frame prints.
